Steering issues.

Im thinking about buying a 1984 K5 Silverado and i test drove it today but it has the same problem that my jeep wrangler has that the steering is excessively loose. is there any way to fix that maybe with a high pressure steering stabilizer. if so let me know.

Any one of the following plus more.

Loose U bolts,

Wore out:
ball joints
steering box
rag joint
tie rod ends
cracked frame
spring bushings

what he ^ said.. i bought my 88 k5 with the frame all cracked to s**t behind the steering box (very common) and the steering wandered, but it was an easy fix and im glad it wasn't a deal breaker for me. but it could be a lot of things. if the truck's a good deal, none of the above mentioned things are too expensive to fix..
