Good morning to all,

I own a 1971 Chevy Blazer. It has a 6” inch lift. The biggest issue I am having is my steering, it is very sloppy, lose and when driving it is hard to determine where the center is. I would like to have my steering tight. We swapped out the original gear box for a re-manufactured gear box, but it did not solve the issue. What to do next?

Welcome to the site. There are a lot of threads about this issue. Best thing to start with is, get under it and have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth. Watch for what is sloppy. Look at the tie rod ends, cracks in the frame around the steering gear box. Ball joints. U-bolts on the leaf springs. Bushings on leaf springs and more. Can be a combination of a lot of worn out parts.
 
It has a brand new suspension. Brand new ball joints, tie roads, leafs springs, steering column. Everything is brand new.
 
Maybe not enough positive caster, with 6" lift. That will give you a sloppy wandering feel to the steering
 
And if it’s sticking when turning one way to the other it could be the u-joints inside the front axle.
 
If everything is new, make sure everything it torqued to spec. New parts that are loose suspension/steering can be culprit
 
Reinforce the steering box to frame ahead of time and save a lot of grief later. It WILL crack eventually
