I will just give you my plan and if anybody's got any opinions, advice or see's something wrong let me know.
I've recently started running harder trails again. And found that my steering overheats and there just isn't enough power to turn my wheels. I am going to run a trans cooler on the return side of my pump. I will just use hose and hose clamps to and from the cooler. I also plan to do this mod http://westtexasoffroad.homestead.com/powersteering.html.
If I still have problems I will then go to hydro assist but would like to avoid it. I'm only running 12.5 " wide tires and it looks to be a bit of a pain in the ass with my revers high steer.

Those mods do help quite a bit. Its not a big deal to put a ram on a reverse high steer. I prefer it, It keeps the ram out of the rocks if you put it on top and behind the axle using double arms.

Thanks for the reply. What do you mean by mounting the ram using double arms? I have a drivers double arm and another drivers arm on the pass side turned backwards. I was thinking I can mount a ram spring plate to tie rod. Are you talking about going from the diff housing to an arm?

I did this and it works great. I stopped burning up pumps when I did it.

Diff housing to the arm. I have never liked mounting it to the tie rod for a couple reasons--
I think the ram mounted directly to the arm is gonna give you more out of the ram because it is hooked right to the knuckle. It will be more of an even assist to have your draglink turning the pass knuckle and the ram on the driver knuckle. This way you have a ram on both knuckles, instead of a tie rod taking half of the force away.
I also dont trust hooking it to a tie rod or diff pan. Up and behind the axle keeps it out of the rocks too.

This pic is close to what Im talking about. Only I would put the ram behind.

Going to try it with out hydro assist first but I have a feeling that's where I'll end up.
