i currently have ord x-over/highsteer, and stock length 6" springs

i want to move my front axle forward atleast an inch, if not more. but with the current setup, i cant. the drag link will rub the tie rod. especially when the right side suspension moves up.

what are the best options? i really dont want to buy all new steering just to move the axle ahead. but i also dont want the tie rod in harms way.

move the tie rod to the rear and buy all new stuff?

i dont have hydro assist- i havent needed it. or maybe i do and just dont realize it.

any other suggestions?

smart ass.
you guys interested in making a double ended arm? that works with your cuurent stuff?

I wasn't being a smart ass, if you want to move your axle forward significantly that's pretty much what you're in for. How far do you want to move it?

i know you arent being an ass. it was just such a simple yet efficient answer.

im thinking 2-3" inch range. not somthing too abnormal. it just doesnt look like i can really move it at all currently.

or sleeve your tierod and move it back to stock location, sucker is SUPER strong after welding up a second pipe around it :)

Where's it contacting? The top of the drag link near the pitman arm?

Run a smaller drop pitman and/or a longer steering arm...A forward-pitman steering box is a good solution though. With the stock boxes, even with the axle in the stock location, the ideal length for pitman and steering arm is something around 6.5" (memory is probably a little off) to make the drag link parallel to the axle on the lateral axis. Even with a shorter common pitman arm, you usually still end up with the box side of the drag link further back even when the axle is still in stock location.

they are close near the rt steering arm.

im going on vacation till next tuesday, so when i gate back i will roll the truck out of the gayrage and take a few pics and get more ideas.

im liking the astro van idea, i might look into that.
