The other day I was driving my truck and the power steering pump locked up. I took off the belt so I could get it back home.

Today I replaced the power steering pump. Now it will steer to the left but it wont steer to the right. It will physically steer but its real hard, like not having power steering. so I have power steering to the left and manual steering to the right.

anybody know where my problem is? thanks

I suppose it would be possible that when your pump went out it fried your gear box, or visa versa. It's been my experience that usually when you have power one way and not the other it is the steering gear, if no power both ways it's usually the pump.

Did you bleed the system? Jack the front end up and turn it on. Turn the wheel back and forth several times. The air will find it's way into the pump and your problems are over. remmeber to check the fluid level after/while doing this.

Read this before you bleed the brakes: (Click on the middle two pages to enlarge)
