Steering q's

Ok a few questions since im pretty much just a lounge rat all the time.

Shaft from steering wheel to gearbox... The guy is wondering if side to side play is normal up by the firewall? It seemed normal to me.

The drag link from pitman to steering arm, the end on the steering arm has slop, he said he isnt even getting a year out of them. I believe they are napa replacements. Any idea why they are wearing out so soon? is there an upgrade?

Hit Scott (4x4 high), he has rebuilt a few, its not an easy thing to get right, he was talking about doing that service at one time, but I think he got his present job to change his mind for him.
