steering question.

when im driving, my steering Wheel isnt centered, it's off to the right, about 1/4 turn and when im driving around , then hit the brakes, the steering wheel goes about 1/4 turn past center, to the left. ..

whats that sound like, TRE? balljoints?

Could be ball joints, tie rod end, drag link could even be the rear end moving around the best thing to do is to is check put the truck on jack stands and shake everything down then go and tighten all the u bolts and spring eye bolts

When did this begin?
Is it lifted?

Not saying that this is the problem, but that sounds exactly how a lifted truck would react when braking, if the drag link angle haven't been corrected with a raised steering arm or a dropped pitman arm.

And any of the stuff you mentioned could exaggerate the problem further.
Also check for frame cracks around the steering box

Agree with these questions. These are very important to answer before looking any further at this issue. Doesn't sound like something related to disc braking but we can't tell much yet.

well, The steering wheel was always a bit off. But, since it's gotten worse when braking etc.

it just started. lets say a week ago, Yes it's lifted 4" on 35's

Did you make sure the tire pressure is equal?

Sometimes we forget the simple things...

I know when my slow leak in the left rear is getting low. It pushes left under acceleration. Pulls right on deceleration. Makes it hairy to drive.

well, today I drove on a bumpy road, and I can hear a clunk , and feel it slightly in the driverside floorboard, so I'm assuming it's a balljoint, Ill get out there and jack it up after it stops raining.
