ok guys, I've replaced a sector shaft seal before, but I've never messed with my steering box input seal (right in front of the rag joint). its leaking severly. I really want to leave the box installed in the truck, due to some red loctite on a steering brace.

if anybody can give me a step by step on how to disconnect my steering input shaft, get these seals out, and put new ones in, you would absolutely be my hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

very awesome and helpful, I just read all that. So the seal in the kit from the Zone is too big? Got any part numbers on the one you finally ended up using?

I've got a slight temptation to try some kinda stop leak, but I should probably cowboy up and dig in, since I already have the seal.

Still have a question??? PM Scott 4X4HIGH .

I'll probably get to talk to him on messengers some time. He's extremely helpful, without him I would have never been able to figure out my rocker stud situation

super easy
take off rag joint
take off big nut on the end of the box
use a punch and a wrench to take off the plug, you'll see what i mean
slide the whole thing out, pull the little shaft out, pull the circlip out, replace the seals, the main(thick) seal in first than the dust seal, the o ring goes around the worm shaft(do not pull that out!!)
now reassemble
