btw, how 'bout "high performance" box & pump?
anyone have any experience with upgrading power steering pump and gearbox? Question is, is any of this worthwhile, and if so, under what conditions? My pump is leaking, and the worm gear's about gone, so what's the best option? Just buy rebuilts? Btw, I'm a mud and snow 4wd, but not trails, stock (15") wheels and tires. Looking at the A'zone website, I found these:
Here's the blurb on the pump:
Pump w/o reservoir
AGR super pump is a bolt-in replacement. Modifications and addition of proprietary components produce significant increases in flow and pressure over O.E.M. & rebuilt pumps. Recommended with AGR super box 1 or 2 to get the most performance possible.
and here's the blurb on the gearbox:
Super Box 1
Designed to be most powerful and nimble steering with least effort, with wide bearings and light valve. Many performance components like AGR’s tribearing Billet alum caps, etc. All in vibratory finished case. best when paired with AGR Super pump.
here's a kit w/powered stabilizer:
Rockram system
This sys has the power to turn nearly any size tire and is ultimate powered steering stabilizer. Includes: super pump and modified super box, that control assist cylinder (includes: mts like steering stabilizer) and necessary hardware.
