I was doing some testing on my front locker activation and found that when it's locked, it's super tough to steer. This is normal I know, but I also get a loud squeal from under the hood when i turn the wheel.

It sounds like the steering pump, but can the steering box make noise like that? I can't turn the wheel and look under the hood at the same time.

The pump is working hard to try and turn the wheels while on a hard surface. The squeal is definately coming from the pump.

Yeah trying to turn a locked front on a solid surface is an extremely difficult task for the gear. Check out PSC they have stronger pumps.

I guess I should try it out in the dirt and see if it's any better. The pump is old and I don't want it to take a dump on me in hollister.

No hydro assist needed yet since I can just switch the locker off.
