OK have a dana 60 front with high steer and crossover steer from ORD.

After a trip to moab this last weekend, i feel like something is not right.

I have no steering when im slightly flexed. I understand that is a problem but i also thought thats what crossover was supposed to fix???

also driving down a dirt road my wheels are gettign yanked all over the place. holding my wheel straight they will bounce a huge amount left to right. i still have the stock rag joint so i am wondering if the XJ shaft will take care of that??

last. the high steer arm and the crossover arm seem to be hitting each other a lot. The blazer flexes a lot so i can see how it happens. but anyone else with this problem?

Let's start with the basics first. Have you looked for cracks in the frame at the steering box or loose steering box bolts?

I would guess something is hitting or your drag link ends are maxed out. How much lift, how tall is the steering arm/block? Bent draglink? Custom or stock front crossmember? Any pictures? This doesn't sound like anything switching from rag joint to u-joint would fix.

Pictures please. Do you have a broken axleshaft? Possibly broken steering box?

Really do need pics

What springs? Is the axle in the stock location? Is the steering wheel centered when you're driving straight down the road?

What exactly do you mean by "no steering"? You can't steer in either direction?

Cross-over just lets the steering still move the front tires both left and right when flexed out, versus push-pull steering in which you have no left steering if the driver's side front is drooped out.

If you can't move the steering wheel either direction it is because of either a bind in the steering system somewhere or simply not enough power assist. If there is obvious contact between steering components that would be first concern.

What does this mean?

we're gonna need pics of everything. how much lift do you have?

Get somebody to jerk the wheel back and fwd while you watch for what's moving, what's not and if anything is moving that shouldn't be. Could be broken tierod joint, arm mount studs, cracked frame, destroyed gear box or like you said a ripped rag joint. Just gotta watch while somebody works the steering.
