I have three questions:

1) I just finished putting the steering back on my '72 Blazer. However, it is very sloppy at the steering shaft. I know where the problem is, but I'm not sure what I'm lacking. I'm using the stock rag joint shaft for the mean time, while I wait for the XJ conversion. But on the top part of the shaft & the bottom part of the steering column, there seems to be an adaptor or something missing. I'll post some pics. If anyone knows, let me know.

2) I ordered up some ARP studs from ORD to replace the cheap stuff for my hysteer arms. The thing is, I torqued them follwoing ORD's specific procedures to 110 but the nuts only threaded about half way. Would this be fine or should I try to retorque them? No good pics of this.

3) I have my 12K Tabor winch, which is a bit too wide for my framerails to sit perfectly in the center. So I was thinking of doing one of two things. One *which I really don't want to do* is notching the frame to move the winch to the center & then replating it around the winch. Two, is to leave the winch off center & putting the fairlead in the middle. I'm just wondering if there would be a problem with option Two?? Any problems I would need to be worried about? Pic included.

Thanks. :D If no responses are given here, I'll move it over to the Garage, just thought I'd try here first.

It looks like you are missing the lower bearing on your steering shaft.

Kinda hard to see mine but at the point were the Borgsen ujont connects to the steering colum there is a spring/washer and bearing in the place were yours is empty, so ya it would appear your missing the 'tip' of your steering colum.

As for your winch question it would work with the winch off center and the fairlead centered BUTT you may have dificulties re-spooling your winch cable evenly, it will want to bunch up to one side when winding in your cable.....I would guess if you cut your frame and re-box it all with good welds it would probly work fine...but I am guessing??
Good Luck
