My wife wants something to help her get into her 90 Jimmy. Talking with a local shop all they can find were steps that attach to the rockers. I was looking for something to attach to the frame, any ideas?

There was talk about this in another topic. Though I was thinking like you, frame mount is better, the predominant response was that the body mounts were actually better. A couple of guys stepped on their frame mounted steps with the body off of the frame and were surprised to see the amount of frame twist they create. Obviously, the twist will eventually lead to fatigue. Try finding that thread, it's no more than a couple of weeks old. It'll give you good advice, better than me.

If you're also in the market for rock sliders, too, I have a couple of suggestions for you. Blazen Offroad, one of our vendors here has some nice ones that either bolt or weld on instead of the rocker panels. There are weld on tube steps. Daniel Palm Industries (http://dpalms.com/dpi/sliders.shtml) has sliders that bolt on where the body bolts to the frame. They claim they are not affected by body and/or frame flex. Both company's products look great. They're more expensive than some of the steps you can get from Whitney and others, but are cheaper than some others.

Chain stirrup to the seat mount -

She would love the stir ups cause she loves horses, but she would leave them hanging out the door and wonder why she couldn't close it.:haha:

I kind of like the way they would get up and out of the way, but up here in the north with all the snow I don't know how long they would continue to work?:doah:

i helped a friend put a section of tire chain on his seat mounts....he could pull it out and it looked like a ladder made out of chain....worked good!

I've actually thought about a roll up rope ladder with wooden or fiberglass rungs. Just roll it up and tuck it out of the way on the floor by the seat frame. :D
