Well with the 39s and a little more lift I am to the place that my soon to be wife is having a hard time getting in. I want to keep it easy for her cause for some crazy reason she actually likes wheeling and making it easy for her will hopefully keep her wheeling by my side (maybe even driving, gasp).

So on to the the subject. I hate steps, single steps, nerf, running boards etc have no business on a truck that is wheeled hard. I am sure 90% of them will be left on the trail when I rip them off and I would hate to litter. So what are some good idea to allow her to get in? Cables? 5 gallon bucket with a rope? Help me out guys.

some chain, with 5-6 links welded together that hangs down off the rocker, maybe an oh sh!t handle on the windshield pillar as well...

If you decide to run steps, I have 4 carr single steps i took off my Burb im not using anymore. Let me know. Cheap.

I've been running #80 chain on hunting buggies for almost 30 years, it doesn't move side to side very much but easily moves front to rear. When you go over an obstacle it can move up or swing to glide over an obstacle. They have to be oiled once in awhile to keep from squeaking but are trouble free other than that.

In this pic you can see the step which is 1" sq. tube with the chain supporting it.

I have dents in my rockers right now. I wonder if I could leave them loose.

I know you said you hate nerfs, but how about rock sliders that intergrate a step?

or you could make a nylon sling that runs through some sqare tube that attaches to maybe the seat bolts inside, or the floor boards. Once she is in pull back in and clip to the side of the seat. Like a saddle stirup. No one will know its there and she or eventual kids can use it.

ha! Sure looks like you do, and plan on doing with your current changes. Plus it would be safer for her, ya know? :D

I was going to have chad bend me a hoop but idk if it should be in cab or out.

I like the #80 chain idea. Skip anything else.

She is skinny, what is she bitching about???

you could spend a cool grand on those automatic fold down steps....:haha:

Make some. I did it out of rebar and expanded steel and some angle iron. Best part is it was free and I don't care if they get ripped off.

It isn't so much that they get ripped off but what they get ripped off of. Rockers only have so much metal in them.

Well, what I did was use some angle iron and bolted them to the frame and the inner body support. Its pretty sturdy, and can hold my 250 pounds and hasn't shown any signs of weakness yet. They've been on there for like two years.

Good, a pretty resent thread on steps. Had a girl complain about getting in my rig.

I would love to have the cash to throw at one of those automatic steps but that aint gonna happen. That chain idea sounds legit, but I'd like to find something thats more aesthetic but still can get out of the way.

Maybe i'll fab a collapsing thing, but that aint gonna be for a while.
