stereo in k5?

stereo questions.......In my 72' I have gotten a stock stereo to go in the stock opening, I plan to install my cd player in the console, I will put a new set of 6.5s in the doors, since theres already holes cut for them, what else? Where have you guys mounted speakers for the back? Also Amps? Where have you guys stuck them?

i have my 6X9's boxed between the back of my front seats and the fenderwells, I have my amp underneath my rear seat with my sub in front of it, I really dont like my sub right there but dont have anywhere else to put it for now...

Will you do something to protect the speakers in the door? My window stripping is in bad shape and even if it weren't I can see those speakers being subjected to harsher conditions then in a newer vehicle.

I have 4 outdoor patio speakers, 2 hooked to the cage behind the rear seats and 2 behind the front seats, using muffler clamps to hold them to the cage.

Cheepie speakers but its plenty loud.
