Stereo options W/O cutting Dash etc

Just got a all stock near perfect 1972 K5 and want to put a really good sounding unit in with a sub and four speakers somehow without damaging the stock look or long term value. I have heard many complaints about the retro radios and am wondering how their current offerings are working or other options.
I wonder if I will need a more powerful alternator as I can see the lights dim when at idle and brighten up a little when I give it a little gas.

I do have the center console and am installing it back today.
I have had that exact tuffy in my FJ40 I sold and might go back that direction if I have to.

skunked thats pretty cool I wish we had some personal experience here with that set up. I think I will want even more power then that too but we will see.

Someone here has it....I'll look around. And you can add amps to them for more power IIRC.
