stering question

i just replaced my water pump and took it for a derive everything is good there and i was wondering if the belt that goes to the power steering is to tight would this cause the wheel to be jerky or hard to steer? it wasent like this untill i tightened up all the belts after replaceing my water pump.

Mine used to do that, but I just figured it was a bad belt and it stopped when I replaced it, how old is your belt?

old it looked like i needed a new when i looked at it today i will try that but if that doesent work i am just going to replace the pump because my dad told me he has one that i can use
