Steve’s 66 chevelle

I had always wanted a 66 chevelle,in the summer of 2016 while I was working on my blazer my wonderful wife showed me a picture of a chevelle she found on Facebook that was for sale . Price was right and it ran , only problem was I had spent all my money I had saved on a new trans for my c-10 and on parts for the blazer. My wife being the giving person she is said take the money out of savings that her mother left her when she passed on the condition I put it back eventually, and go get the car..
It was a Sunday , wife contacted the seller and we went to there house within the hour. I knew for the asking price the car would be gone quick.the owner pulled the tarp off and Star it up and pulled it out of the side yard , my wife asked what I thought about it but already knew the answer by the look on my face . We shook on the deal and returned the next day with the money and the wife followed me home while I drove it home with now lights open headers and holding the ignition switch in just the right spot so it would stay running.

It was obvious after the drive home that it had some electrical issues it had been sitting for several years other than being started up once in a while, I ordered a ignition switch and put it in and got the car to the point it would start and run.changed the oil and cleaned up some wiring under the hood , set the timing and adjusted the carb and through some exhaust on it from left over stuff I had in the pole barn.

Supposed to be a 383 , it is a 350 block and has a 400 balancer and flywheel on it but I haven’t investigated it any further than that.

I took my daughter for a ride in it last summer after getting the seats bolted in correctly and some belts in it and she wasn’t impressed, we got home she hopped out looked me dead in the eye and said it needs a big block and then went in the house.the things kids say!lol.
