Stiff Knuckle D60

Being new to this axle, I don't know what to think /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
The passenger knuckle swivels easily, but doesn't have any play so I assume this is good, but the driver side knuckle is EXTREMELY stiff. It takes quite a bit of force to turn it back and forth. Any suggestions as to the problem?

Also, the gear oil was thick and gray? What's up with that, or is it just water in it?

I would assume a bad lower bearing, and or no grease or very old grease that has dried up and became stiff.

Are the shafts still in it? If they are it could be a bad u-joint like mine.
