"stinger" tire carrier

You're right, they can be built for what ever size tire you want.

Tho this is the one I want, minus the corner protection...

Here's mine (built for a 42) :wink1:

Now that I have seen it in use, I think the stinger style tire carrier is much more user friendly than the swingout.

The stinger just makes so much more sense from a design perspective. Having all that weight hanging off the side of a single support (with at least 3' of leverage) just doesn't make much sense.

Can you get a stinger with
1. wrap around protection for the quarter panels- never mind- found what I was looking for with respect to this issue.
2. That give you access to the frame hitch

Now, does this system allow access tothe frame hitch?

I haven't installed mine yet but it's supposed to allow hitch access.

Did you order the DP system?

Yes, the pic in post #21 is my bumper & carrier mounted on DP's K5. He made it for me a couple of years ago but I haven't installed it yet (can you tell I've been draggin my feet on my K5 build?). :o :doah:

Edit: I'm actually rethinking the actual bumper now... I want a rear winch bumper so I may go with a different bumper and graft my carrier/stinger onto it.

This is probably tacky & I was going to IM you, butI coulnd't find the button,

How much did he charge you?

Under $500.00?

That's ok. I can't remember exactly because it was bundled with a front bumper, sliders and some body parts but I believe it worked out to a little over that much.

I recieved an email from DIY & they said that they were not building rear bumpers. He didn't respond to my question about the rock sliders.
