Well, I had to move the center attachment point to the top of the bumper instead of the edge. Was only maybe 4 inches difference, but it reduced the play from 10-12 inches at the highest point, to practically nil. Raising or lowering is a breeze by myself, as it almost balances in the upright position. I just hold it upright with my shoulder/head or one hand and install the center (top link) pin. I like it!!!

Did you fab it yourself or did you get it from Poison Spyder? Can you get more pics of the three attachment points?:D

Looks Dontoe, got a side pic?

You ask that of a pic whore like me? :haha::haha::haha:

Only real good side view is the original mount point of the center mount and before I painted it, also the old machined hinges that broke the first time I pivoted them. Oh, that's a 33X12.5X15 in this pic. 35X12.5X15 in the finished pic.

Lowered position.......

I'll get better pics tomorrow of the attachment points.............unable to today.

I had a semi-local guy bend it for me as I had no way to do that as yet. He also made the pivots but not like I asked him to. They broke, so I had a machine shop just up the road make them for me. The tire mount is a 12 bolt axle end I braced and welded onto some flat stock.

I built the bumper from a kit from 4X4 Iron, and I expanded on an idea of DPI's of a "Stinger Tire Carrier" and got the clevis' off the internet and had the other tubing bent and pivots machined to my specs so I could assemble them.

I thought it was Stomper, but I may be wrong...

Definitely the way I want to go with mine, as opposed to the swing out style..

Don, not sure I understood the first post... What did you have to change?

79Stomper bought a similar one from DPI, IIRC
The center link, where it mounts to the bumper, was mounted to low in the unpainted (side pic) photo. I'll do some better mount/hinge pics tomorrow. Sorry.

Original ideas I started with.

Hinge.jpg

The first pivots/hinges I had machined, he made them way to thin!!!

Stinger_3.jpg

The first mount position, I turned it around so the links eye is on top of the bumper now.

New/better position.........no, the tailgate doesn't hit it when lowered.
