Hey,

I have a 1971 Blazer with a 1987, 350. My oil pressure seams to always be on the high side even when the correct amount of oil is in the engine. It may have a high pressure oil pump in it but I am wondering what the range of the stock oil pressure gauge is. Whats the middle, low, high, etc.

Anyone know?

Thanks

i have a small block stroker with a new hi volume oil pump in my 70 blazer. my stock gauge is pegged most of the time. it settles to a little past half way while idling after a long highway run. i have an 85 3/4 ton suburban with a stock 350 and it always pegs its oil gauge too. i wouldnt worry about it, i think high pressure is caused by tight bearing clearances in a fresh motor.

If you really want to find out install a good aftermarket gauge. Thoes old school guages 'wear out'. I thought I had a cooling issue and all along it was my guage...
