What U joint size do stock front CVs use from our trucks? I had thought they were all 1350s and that was the only size they came in on our trucks but after doing some looking I may be wrong.

That being said is it over kill to think I need a full 1350 setup in my s10 project? 4.3/nv3500/241/toy axles on 35s?

Which is after googling is equivalent to a 1330 joint?

Post #4 in this post makes it look like yes, it's somewhere in the 1330 range.

Having said that, big driveline joints are WAY overrated. Everyone thinks they need them for some reason; most failures are caused by axle wrap, binding or straps coming loose.

If you could find a way to keep the Toyota joints, they're pretty damn good. If that's not what you want to do, the S44 will serve you just fine.

Yeah I'm not braking the bank just to go with 1350s. I'm gonna use the s44 CVs front and rear off the case with stock front 241 flanges front and back. The axle ends will retain the stock toyota flange and u joint setup so it will be domestic up top and yota down at the axle.

I already have 2 or 3 s44 front CV shafts kicking around at my parents. I'm just gonna grab two and lop the shafts off of them for a fresh start. I'll rebuild the CVs and get everything setup for when get the truck.

I'm trying to do some preemptive work here. Which reminds me I need to start a new thread about getting a front output flange to work in the rear, pirate has been no help. Believe it or not no flaming because its actually a good question but at the same time no help.

If you get a front drive shaft out of a 2003 and up dodge truck it has a 1350 CV on it. The s44 CV is actually going out of production because the 1350 cv is cheaper to make

Thats a good thing to know. I have 3 s44 CV shafts kicking around so I'm gonna with them. Plus I really dont need 1350 driveshafts with a 4.3 and 35in tires.
