what diameter bolts are stock in the front shackles?(80 k5)

i bought a set of shackles for my diy4x rear shackle flip, and got 9/16th'' bolts... i know they should fit just fine, so while i was placing my order, i went ahead and ordered a set of shackles, for up front w/ 1/2'' holes...

i pulled my front spring pack today, and i also went ahead and painted my flip kit and my shackles, and the diy front shackles 1/2'' bolt hole looked huge compared to the bolts i had just pulled out of the stock front shackles!

are the stock bolts 1/2'', is it just an optical illusion(my eyes) or are the stock bolts 7/16'' or so......if they are smaller, can i just run a 1/2'' drill bit thru the front shackle mount thats riveted to the frame,to get a 1/2'' bolts to fit or ???

the original bolts looked small, i'll see how well 1 fits the 1/2'' shackle hole tomorrow(i didn't want to mix grease and paint today), but i wanted to know what kind/size hole to expect is in the front stock shackle mount and what i can do to make them fit a 1/2'' bolt if they don't alteady? will a 1/2'' drill make the mounts bolt holes to weak. i guess i can hold off and get an opinion from kert tomorrow. i thought someone else may had already crossed this bridge and have useful information.....thanks ahead of time

your factory front bolts are 7/16". Unless otherwise specified, our shackles ship with a 1/2" hole.

You shouldn't mix the two. Call me and we'll get things ironed out for ya. You have some options.

Yeah I yanked the sleeves out of my spring and shackle mount and bored them out with a 1/2in drill bit. Theres plenty of meat on the sleeves to do this. I say upgrade the hardware for the strength!
