Stock front spring shackle placement

Ok on my 87 I installed a unknown 4" lift kit springs front and rear. I am going to be ordering a shackle flip for the rear soon and was wondering for the front has anyone moved the shackle mount forward and ran a different shackle ? What I am trying to achive is a little softer ride. This truck is my almost daily driver and would like to make it ride softer but am wondering if I do this are there any ill effects to it ?

a few member here have done this with positive results. I plan on doing this as well with my pickup. Somewhere around a 6" shackle was used. You should end up with better droop as well. I think if this was done and the swaybar is retained (Or disconnects) street maners would be good
