stock stall speed?

im putting a new engine (400hp 350)an tranny 700r4(yes i know its gonna die )in my 89 k5 and i dont want a stock converter, i found one on 700r4.com that is "HD" with a 1600 stall,i want close to stock stall speed but a little stronger.does anyone know what the stock stall speed is?

stock is 1400 for full sizes, 1600 for s10s and 2000 for the vettes

There were about 80 different converters for these trucks (no, I'm not kidding) and a more powerful engine will make the same converter stall higher.

According to B&M the stock stall speed is 1200.

That might have been for the one they tested, because I can assure you GM used so many converters there is no way they were all 1200.

hmm alright, i think the 1600 stall speed is looking good, i just dont want the sudden jerking of a high end torque converter, im guessing 1600 is too low for it to jerk at all. thanks guys!

According to B&M the stock stall speed is 1200.

That sounds a lot lower than any of mine have been.
