Looking at getting a few more HP out of the buggy for the KOH race in late Feb.

Engine is a rebuilt TBI motor that we think is a basically stock. It came out of a suburban and the only real thing we know about it is that it was always a strong runner and not the original motor. Still had a sticker on it when I pulled it but I can't remember what it said since that was 4.5 years ago now.

Looking at maybe a even fire cam swap, there is a possibility of Vortec Heads and new intake but I don't have time to tune.

I need plug and play stuff that doesn't mess with the computer.

What are my best options in the $500-$1,000 with no tuning issues.

Get the Injector spacer, power plate, power charger, and adjustable fuel pressure regulator. from here:http://marine-performance-parts.com/gmtbiperformance.aspx
Edelbrock TBI intake manifold and a set of headers would be good too.
A set of flow matched 55 lbhr injectors will help.
MSD coil.
Should be able to do all of the above within your budget. These mods will run fine on the stock chip. Fuel pressure set around 13-14 PSI.

Have you already done headers? More gain out of that than anything else you are going to be able to bolt on without prom burning. And prom burning will help after that too...

I already have shorty headers and a some form of a custom chip. Howell does all of our chip stuff so we may do a little ALDL logging and see if they can get a little more out of it as well.

Chassis and suspension are built around the shorty headers so I have to stay with them.

I will look into the stuff from Marine performance.

I really am not looking to get 50 more HP. I just want to add the 10 or 15 HP that may be laying on the table with minor work and expense.

I could get you some info I got from the guy at tbichips.com. He gave me some a specific Comp Cam to get in addition to some roller tip rockers with 1.6 ratio. You would need to have him burn you a chip, but it would work without swapping out the computer. He said it would get me more power and mpg than my current 300hp carb set up.

I don't have the e-mail handy right now, I'd have to look it up tomorrow. IIRC, it was about $600 for the cam, rockers, and chip. Only the chip comes from tbichips.com

You can easily get 10- 15 Hp from the items from cfm-tech I linked to in my other post. Cheap easy bolt on HP for the money. I am runnin all i linked to plus a bored 46mm TB.
If your injectors are old I highly recomend a set of flow mached injectors also.
