No news on the truck......
keepin eyes open
That's a heartbreaker...
You have my sympathies....
There is a gang of thieves working the greater bay area/Delta stealing yotas. Don't know a lot about it, but Marlin's bbs has a really long thread on it. I think they're being hauled down to Baja as yota's go for premium pesos down there.
Almost be easier if that's what had happened to you.
What the hell, why did they burn it?
Dunno. All the stereo and Nav stuff was still there also
usually when they do something like that it's either kids, who go for a joy ride and then burn it.. or someone uses it for a crime of some sort, and burns it thinking they covered all their tracks up.
I see a lot of nice vehicles that get torched, when all they wanted was the seats or something. It just seems to be the trend these days.. I guess they think any evidence, that could lead it back to them, burns up too.
I've seen many a person, late at night, show up not knowing their car was even gone, until they got the call from PD saying it was stolen, and torched.
What about painting the car but leaving the license plates on.....? Have you seen that move before?
I'm sure PD has seen many different things when dealing with it...
However, I'm in the FD.. and I have as of yet to see a thief paint one, and then burn it. I'm not involved with it unless it's been burned, or crashed. But, I have seen them burned, without anything being removed, and I have seen them burned after being totally stripped.. and burned after just taking something like the drivers seat. It just seems more common these days for thieves to burn 'em when they are done with them.....
It disgusts me every time..
Sorry it happened to you, bro.
Sorry man. That was a nice runner.
My neighbors friend knows a bunch of cops, his mom works with them or somehting, and he has been telling me about a bunch of cars getting stolen in the bay area lately. It was crazy. A month or so ago, there were 2 cops sitting on my street, sort of staking out another street, talking to my neighbors friend, all of a sudden they took off like a bat out of hell, turned out someone jacked an Escalade, while they were keeping eyes on it! I didnt think anyhting of it until he told me it was a big deal, and to be careful of my blazer.
Sorry to see they did that. Damn low-life theives.
No word from Insurance, Arson investigator, Police etc......
I don't imagine that they will find the people responsible
Holy hell, sorry for your loss man. Is your insurance going to give you what it WAS worth or try to screw you over?
Working thru that now. We have USAA - been excellent to us, great reputation. We will see. I estimate losing app $3000 in this mess.
