Stolen 89 K5 in San Jose

yep my buddies, sad sad day, Im determined to find it, I put lots of hours in to that rig...

damn i'll keep my eyes peeled. that is a sick blazer. i'm not suprised its wanted back in a bad way.

I thought someone here had to know about it since it had all the usual mods on it. Why isn't this posted over at pirate4x4 also? Between these two sites, you figure someone will hear about or see it at Hollister.

That's what I thought.....

No brakes, means it was put on a trailer, or towed.
That ain't yer run-of-the-mill theif.

Sorry to see this happen.
I worry about this daily.

oh, it was driven, I followed the oil leak line from where it was parked for at least a 1/2 mile around several turns and streets...bastards. I told the owner to post it on pirate, we will see.

Imo, anybody that successfully steals a truck with no brakes knows the truck. A random thief would probably have ditched it within a couple of blocks.

Thats what makes it so sad. The thief had to know the truck, so probably someone the owner trusted

from the looks of the oil line in the street, the first turn was a surprise to the thief, over shot it bad, ended up in a condo driveway and turned around, proceded to go the wrong way, had to do another u-turn in someone elses driveway.

I was the only other friend that either worked on the blazer or drove the blazer. It had never been in Hollister or wheeled for that matter. I want to say the truck has sat in that same spot in front of his house for a year since I regeared the axles...

I don't see it over there. Time is of the essence, I don't know what he's waiting for. :dunno:

I posted it over there, he has no idea what his password is over there. Im hoping he finds more pictures of it and emails them to me.

Nothing I can do to help up here in AZ, but I hope that this is found. It makes me sick to hear stories like this. My cousins truck (97' Z71, 12" lift, solid axle kit, 40" tires, bad ass 383 stroker, built 4l60e, and much much more), was stolen by a 50 year old drunk in front of my house one night. He only made it a half mile before he rolled it 3 times. Completely totalled the truck(probably had $18,000 in the truck). The guy went to the hospistal for serious injuries (including a few broken vertibrae, ribs, and other injuries), and was released from hospital without ever being arrested. The cops said that they would have had to pay for part of his medical bill if they would have arrested him(since he was a low life bum with nothing but debt to his name). Instead they let him go and put a warrant out for his arrest. Hasn't been seen to this day.......................:doah:

UPDATE:

vehicle was recovered about 1 mile away abandoned in front of a school. It does look like it was wheeled a little bit then parked in this ****ty neighborhood. Vehicle was found in the same condition as stolen. Although they stuffed a tire and the fender gashed the tire a little.
