going 52" up front with crossover, so new shocking is in order.

Okay, so I use the Frdd towers on the frame ... but what do I use on the axle? The original factory mounts, or something new fro the bottom of the shock?

I have that set up. If you use the stock axle shock mounts * as I did* then the ford mounts will have to be cut to make for proper shock travel. I ended up cutting 4" off the ford mounts. Basicly the entire angled section of the tower. Drill new holes on the tower and mount on the frame by drilling *and tapping, if a boxed front frame section* new holes.

With this setup, you can run the ultra long rancho shocks. :)

You will also have to cut about 2" off of the stock, axle mount upper plate.
If you dont have the time to weld up a custom mount, this is the way to go :)

Oh, I've got more time than money right now ... got any pix of what you did, as I'm not visualizing what you mean by chopping up the stock axle mount?

Which Ford ones are you going with? I went with the cast newer style but still have a set of the older ones that most folks use. In fact, I think I already angle cut them too.

My lower shock mounts to eliminate binding, which was really bad on mine when flexed.

Nice broken sub shaft!!! :doah:

That took out the stub and the inner. Got bound up in front drive, stretched an ear, out popped the a cap, and the rest is history...
