Straight pipe on a 6.2?

Banks has been making turbo kits for a long time for the 6.2. A lot of guys put there own kits together using factory 6.5 TD parts as well.

The Hummer headers are tubular, but are not long tube. I imagine they'd help a little with power, diesel apparently really respond to free flowing exhuast. We'll see i guess.

As far as muffler choice goes, from what i understand the big thing with diesels is soot. Because of this the mufflers to avoid are glass packs which will eventually clog with soot. A Flowmaster is a pretty free flowing muffler and should do fine behind a 6.2. I currently run a single 2.5" 50 series behind my 6.2 and it does fine.

My plan is dual 3" 40 series flowmasters and the Hummer headers. I've heard with larger dual exhuast the NA 6.2 sounds very similar to a big block.

Hmm, very interesting. I wasn't sure with a 6.2 since they are fairly different than the Cummins engines. Sounds like Flowmasters are not so bad of an idea.

I'd think the 6.2 moves a hell of a lot less air through than the 6BT does.

The single chamber 40 series is a very free flowing muffler so I am sure it will be fine. I am just going to run my 2.5" flowmasters in place of the stock duals and will run 3" from those back to the stock position (either behind or in front of the rear tire)
