I really need a strait 205 crossmember. I also need a 205 shifter screw and bushing. I am in a weird situation and this stuff fast so I can move my truck. If you have one or know where I can get one PM me. I will pay instantly!!!!

I have a 1 ton version shallow drop crossmember and the shifter bolt. Let me know if that shallow drop will work.

Its going on a 88 K5 frame with a 4" suspension lift. I'm not sure exactly what drop I need because nothing is stock. I would rather the shallow drop because If it needs more drop I can just add some spacers.

Obijuan PM SENT :)

you need the crossmember from a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton. and read in the garage about droppin the tcase crossmember. its a bandaid that dosnt realy work .

using a 1 ton crossmember will actualy raise your setup in the frame. this is because true 1 ton stuff has taller frame = less drop needed on the crossmember.

search crossmember and drop and few other ways. there was a thread few weeks ago with tons of good info on the droping and do's and dont's

Yep, what Brett said again...

You need the 1/2 or 3/4 ton 'member. Do not get a 1 ton 'member as it will raise your tranny/t-case up.

If you don't understand, I can take a pic of the 'members as I have a few at the shop.

Thanks so much guys for the good info. I guess the hunt it still on.

Does any of these look like the right one? Person selling is not sure what they are from and I'm not sure if the 'swoop' is deep enough. He says the overall drop is between 3 and 4 inches.

Door #2 looks to be correct. :thumb:

Edit: just to ask outloud, you are using a pre '85 tall t-case adapter? The 205 side will have a race track or "8" shaped pattern.

That is awesome news. I'm gonna buy you dinner. Sorry yeah that would of been helpful. I am using a figure 8 tall adapter.

that looks to me like a 1 ton unit possible.

if i recall the others are deeper drop.

in pic # 1 those extra brackets on it along with no rust marks were the 2 mounts sit. that had to be from a skid plate setup from back in the older days.

pic 2 looks like possible 1/2 - 3/4 ton stuff.

best o flip them both over and measure the drop both have from ground up. this would help id them.

And these pictures help me show those who didn't believe me when I said, some crossmembers had 2 holes for the 205 OR 203 and some had an oval hole that covered both sizes. :thumb:
