I was looking around and doing some cleaning and minor tinkering on my 86 c10 long bed. When i noticed the vents are some sort of aftermarket addition. So i started looking around. First under the hood and everything was normal NON A/C heater box no A/C compressor. then i went to the glove box and found the right most part of the "box" was cut out and a filler plate to close in the side. behind that is another black box with a blower fan on it. I ran out of daylight and didnt get pics, but dont know why they would add this second fan, or what ever is in the box the fan is conected to. Ill get pics of it as i pull it all out and figure out why its there. Being that its an AZ truck i cant imagine why they would put a second heater fan or possibly another heater core (the box the fan is attatched to is big enough to have another heater core inside) But like i said i ran out of daylight so i didnt figure out if theres extra plumbing. this all looks like some sort of aftermaket "kit" rather than home made. Ill keep yall posted.

My '74 k5 had a whole aftermarket unit like that inside the dash for a/c. Had a bunch of that black flexible hose going to the lower left vent and both pass. side vents in dash pad above glovebox. There was actually a whole seperate control for it mounted in the top right area of the dash bezel with a blower control switch for the seperate fan motor, sounds like what you're describing. Gotta love the aftermarket stuff :doah:
