This just started and it's really pissing me off. Whenever my '74 K5 is moving, there is this noise that sounds exactly like a piece of metal is dragging and clanking on the ground under the truck, only there isn't anything dragging. It only happens when the truck moves. When I stop to get out and look, everything goes back to normal so I can't track it down. When I make a right turn, the noise stops, when I come back straight it comes back immediately, and when I make a left turn it seems to make the noise louder. This noise doesn't keep pace with the speed of the engine because it maintains a constant pitch no matter what gear I'm in, it just gets louder as speed increases. Any ace mechanics out there care to venture a guess as to what the hell is going on here?:angry1:

Check your disc brakes and drums.

I had a spring on a drum brake break and it caused a lot of noise.

Dust shields on the yokes of the front and rear pinions.
CV on the front shaft rubbing the crossmember
Bad brake pads/shoes
