I have searched on the subject and found that half are for the sway bar and the other half are not. I'd like to know who is running one and not running one on the street. How do you like it with or without on a 4 inch lift and 35 and bigger tires? Is your ride better or worse with or without? Let me know what you guys are running. I am debating on removing mine to see if I have a better ride on the highway. Thanks

It doesn't really give a better ride on the highway. In fact you may notice more sway on the highway without. Most seem like they have hardly noticed the lack of a sway bar. On a stock truck there is more body roll but not alot. It will help when you are wheeling.

I thought being a daily driver that I would need to run the sway bar. So I spent 100 bucks on the quick disconects....waste of money. First time I disconnected I couldnt even tell so I just took it out. I dont know about stock but with my lift I really cant tell at all.

The Swaybar was removed when I bought my 73 with a 6" lift and 35s my first thought was that I was going to have to get it back on there...

then I drove it. I can not even tell its not on there.

i have a 6" lift with 37" tall tires and don't notice any difference on the road. Maybe a little sway here or there but nothing too bad.

use it for a paperweight. mine is coming off once i install my 4" lift. the lift springs are stiffer than stock, so any extra flex will be welcomed. and yes, it does most of its miles on pavement since i have to drive a long way to get to any really good wheeling spots.

Drives fine without the sway bar , if you practically stop before you turn :wink1:

Most I'll do without it is the week in Moab , its easier to leave it disconnected .

When I finally do go crossover ( knuckles waiting machine time ) , I will figure somekind of sway control out . Its the freeway time I worry about the most .

You , I wouldn't worry about it , you aren't wheeling . And if you wait for my knuckles to get done , you can have the ORD discos . I still owe you for that freebie 14 bolt .

I used to have a sway bar on when I was on Superlift HD springs. Bought the ORD quick disconnects and later learned it was a PITA so I chucked the swaybar and felt no difference since the springs are heavy duty.

Well, fast forward to now, I'm running 52"/56" setup with crossover... the supsension is so soft, I have to walk the Blazer around the corners. I do need that swaybar back on. I still have it but it won't work with the crossover so I'm figuring out what vendor can make me a quick disconnect swaybar similar to TeraFlex.
In your case, if you're gonna still run those EZ or HD springs, I would go without swaybar.

I have 6in tuff country ez rides and 35's. I ditched the sway bar and never looked back. I dont even notice its gone and that is highway and town driving.

I would dump the thing.

Every vehicle I've ever removed the sway bar from has gotten an improved ride simply due to the fact that you no longer have a direct link between the suspension and the frame. Some were a bit softer around corners and curves but most I never noticed a difference other than the smoother ride.

Big Ugly's is coming off probably this weekend.

If I had some super soft flexy springs it would be another story.

Three Geo Trackers (my current one didn't have a sway bar when I got it), a Suzuki Grand Vitara, a Suzuki XL7, a Dodge Ram 1500 4x4, a Ford Ranger, a Jeep Wrangler YJ...it's always been an improvement with stock or normal lift springs.

I've forgotten to reconnect my disconnects so many times that I actually forgot about them. Once I realized I had been driving that long without it connected, I just completely took it off. If you want to buy some cheap disconnects, PM me. I still have them sitting around.

Cool thanks Paul. :waytogo:

I am going to disconnect it this weekend. Hope to see how it works on the road. Thanks for all the input.

Ditched mine when I lifted it. Drives fine. As it sits, it's too big to drive hard around corners safely sway-bar or not.

Under normal street driving not much difference. But for evasive manuvers to keep from killing some idiot on the freeway, now that is some pucker factor. I liked the swaybar for freeway and high speed, helped keep the bumpsteer down a little too.
This was a long time ago when I was dding the thing. Now I have flexy springs and crossover and dont usually go over 60 or so on the freezy.

damn, i guess i'll take mine off too. i need to keep up with the jones'. plus ive got a new DD, so the mutantblazer is just a toy now
