I'm going to be lifting my restoration project. Its never going to be wheeled and will rarely see a dirt road. Would like everyone's opinion on what lift springs and shocks are best for a Mall cruiser. Wanting to go 4" and 35's, truck is a 73 3/4 ton GMC long bed, not sure if the rears are 52 or 56, I haven't measured yet. This is a new realm for me , I'm used to building stuff to bash on the rocks

I'd just go with a decent riding spring setup. Tuff Country stuff and the usual upgrades would work well.

I would go with Alcans or have ORD set you up. Heard that Deaver's are great, too. Is money a concern?

35" tires will feel gutless without a re-gear.

Money isn't a huge concern I just want to do it right and be happy the first time. Not looking to do any shackle flips so I can retain the factory brackets and go back to stock if I want to later. I'm running 4.10's and my last K5 had that and 35's and it performed descent.

I thought ORD just used Tuff Country Springs? Are Alcans really worth the cash? Keep in mind I'm aiming toward a smooth ride not articulation.

Hate to say it, but hte shackle flip in the rear is the way to go.

Are you really going to go back to stock? You could always put the stock hangers back on if you had to.

For the front, go TC easy rides. Or custom, but they get expensive. Smooth ride and articulation probably fall into the same category. Softer springs = smooth ride = articulation.

I'm thinking smooth ride and articulation go together. I put a set of 4" Superlift on a blazer years ago and it still rides stiff/rough :D

When I redo it in the near future, I'm going to put 4" Alcans on it that are about 1" longer. I hate having to crawl over speed bumps. I priced a set from Alcan and didn't think they were out of line. Be worth a call IMO..

ORD has custom springs now. Still sell Tuff Country but the high end is their Alcan custom made springs.

off the shelf 4" tuff country in the front with bilstein shocks .

rear 4" shackle flip for best ride and still tow fine . same shock option on rear .

nice set of braided brake hoses for better pedal feel .

bolt in steering box brace kit for saving frame and tighter steering feeling .

then rock the old girl up/down the highways .

definitely call alcan directly:waytogo: mine were $1000 to my door for all 4 corners and it rides awesome. I don't even look at bumps or dips in the road anymore... well worth. ord's version may or may not be better off road but their higher priced and you don't care about mega travel anyway. I have MORE than enough travel and it rides better than my 05 with ifs.:thumb: when I get rid of my cheapo shocks and go with bilsteins it'll be even better
