Well I get a bit ocd about the strength of my stuff esp after I have broken a time or two. I have a 79 k30. It has a mild 454 (336hp/500lbs), Sm465, 205, front 60,14. I added a detriot to the rear and a lockrite to the front. It has 37s currently. We typically drive most of our trucks a hour to wheel with maybe one guy trailering so any broken stuff can come back. How worried should I be about the axles in the front and the transfercase? I know anything can be broke but am I pushing it?

you should have no issues with that set up, if your breakin stuff now your just a mad man and drive way too hard!

Yep, i agree with above. That is the setup everyone is upgrading to, so with only 37's, you should be in good shape.

I would like to go to 38s or so but thats about that will fit.

the 79 dana 60 has the neck down inner shafts, prob nothing to be worried about. A set of spare inners and stub shafts might be prudent.

That's nothing that will keep you getting off thetrail..

and check out rpmoffroad vendor here

thay have smokin deals on yukon shaft kits with spicer joints . shipped to you in the price.

why spend that cash on stockers if you ever want to upgrade later. so do it all at once i say.
