i see the b52's up to 56''s up front and upwards of 64'' in rear...all in the name of articulation...i see how this is necessary for rocks, but just how much and how would that help me in a mud hole?
If the mud is completely level with no ruts then it won't help. BUT I have never seen level mud so the more tires you can keep on the hard ground, on the bottom, the better off you will be. IF you can control axle wrap.
it really not that bad, it seems, to just let the truck lean b/c usually in deep enough mud it has suction on tire and deep enuff not to flip, but i can see how truck leaning would try to pick up a tire and need the droop
i had the 52's in front and 56's in the back on my old truck, and will use the same setup on the new one. all we mostly run is mud and trails. it was so nice for it to not knock your teeth out when you hit ruts and big bumps. it lets you hit stuff faster with momentum. helps with traction alot also.
I try to hit the mud as often as possible. I think articulation helps a bit. You can cross ruts sideways and keep all your tires on the ground. Trucks with stiff suspensions will go airborne. Traction bars front and rear will help alot.
I've got a 6 inch lift with out any fancy length springs. Its a mud truck so I dont care, but it does bounce around like a damn pogo stick when it gets really hairy
