ive searched the intenet and catalogs and all kinds of people maybe in the know, but i have tried to replace my striker bolts on an 85 k5 and the nuts fell very loose and not attached to anything. on my 77 truck i could just reach around and hold the nut and it was a pice of cake. i dont want to take that chance and have them fall and not have my doors close till i can cut them out. is there any way to hold that nut in place and is there another way to replace them NON invasively? thanks alot

oh and is the 700 tranny worth a damn for 4x4, its ok but ive used a th350 and was very impressed. whats the general concensus on transmissions?

thanks again

Those striker bolt nuts are somewhat loose in a 'cage'. It's done that way so the striker can be moved quite a bit in each direction for adjustment. The nut should not fall out...
