stripped bleeder.

ive got a stripped bleeder that i cant get off, its all rusted up and what not...

what is the best way to get it off???

grind downeach side of it and use a crecent wrench?

or

weld a nut on the end of it and just use that

im going to replace it when i get it out anyway but how have you gotten these off

Bleeder

Some rust buster, a wire brush, and a pair of vice grips usually works, or if you have a socket just a tad smaller than what it usually takes, hammer that onto it, and get a ratchet on it.

its almost rounded out, if vice grips dont work i guess i could always girnd 2 sides flat.

You might consider just replacing the whole caliper or wheel cylinder. If its that rusted up then the whole thing might be due for a replacement, and its a lot easier.

weld a nut on it..

I have had to weld or braze a nut on many bleeder screws on my own and many others vehicles!...vise grips dont always grab good enough without crushing them--if you weld a nut over the bleeder, and let it sit for about 5 minites, the heat will soak into the threads and help loosen it up--I get them out nearly every time that way--if I dont--rebuilt calipers were 11.99 at autozone exchanged!--If I had known that I would have just got them in the first place! :doah:

I'd say vice grips and lotsa Dub D 40. That stuff's a life saver. And if all else fails... cut it.
