stryker bolt ring

Not sure if I'm using the correct name but hoping someone can tell me wht I can use to replace the plastic ring/sleeve that goes over what I think is called the stryker bolt when you close the door helping for a smoother close. I ordered a pair a while back and remember reading here that you use something from the hardware store instead. Anyone no of this?
