On the back of the cab, and under the cap, I have a gasket that came off completely on the driver's side. At the center, though, it became pretty solid, and the whole passenger side appears to have been super-glued on.

1. Is that how it was supposed to feel against the metal from the factory? There seems to be no give to it.

2. Short of flap-wheeling the prick off, is there a simpler method to get these off that I don't know? All other gaskets came off with essentially a simple pull, but not this side.

Thanks!

No, they're on there with what looks like super glue. I can use the drill and flap wheel, but I guess I'm interested to know if they're like this from the factory

Mine was the same way. It caused alot of rot along that seal line in mine too. Make sure to get it scraped out good, i used a wire wheel to get the small stuff. Get a good layer of paint down and kill any rust you can if you find any.

Gonna do what I did for the floor: por-15, por-putty the holes, rust bullet over that, then paint.

That wire that goes through the center: is there enough space under the molding inside to run it inside the whole way, and not have to pop out the back?

Idk, i didnt try it. Def woulda made putting the new seal in easier lol. I think i unhooked it and pulled it out until i put everything back together, but i dont remember

Having that stupid wire goes against any knowledge I have of wiring in general; just a poor design. I'm gonna try to go under the trim. Here's to hoping!

I dont see why it wouldnt work. Idk why i didnt try it lol. It was such a pain to get that side of the seal to stay down with that wire in the way.

Did you try something like Goo-gone or Krud Kutter?
