stuck hub problems?

i got a buddy thats got a 87 k5. his rf hub is stuck. if a locking hub is stuck, will it keep the transfer case from shifting into 2wd? i'm new to 4wd scene so thought i'd ask you guys. i didn't think it would. but what do you guys think it is? the trucks mechanical bone stock with some 31s and 120k miles.

nope shouldnt have anything to do with it. if its NOT coming out of 4wd try backing up a hair and trying it again to take any bind off the axle shafts. i used to have that happen with my hubs, it was mostly due mud and junk inside the hub, just take off those 6 hex screws and clean the heck out of it
