stuck in the snow...

Here are my pics from about a half hour ago, I had to test out the $20 pro-comp tow strap:grin: These drifts were anywhere from 2' to 4' and ranged from like 50 to 150 yards long.

That looks like a lot of fun! I wish it would snow like that around here. :frown1:

snow wheeling does sound fun. wish i had a k5 to go play. lol crew duallys not exactly snow fun friendly unless you like to shovel and push all day long to go 50 feet :haha: are lockers good for snow? or do they hinder you more?

I dont have a stuck pic but it took the BIG city plow truck three attempts to get through the first drift!

He hit it a few times then had to hit it at half height on the plow, come back the other way and over a bit, then he went back threw the first way again with the plow all the way down.

i stuck my K20 this afternoon in front of the house in a pile of snow about 4' tall. it got too tall, so i was going to knock it down a little to improve visibility for my mom and sister when they back out of the driveway. i got about 5' through it, and quit moving. just took a couple times working the blade back and forth, and it popped right out.

I took my S-Blazer out tonight...damn that thing sits low...I could feel it draggin. Ran into a spot where I knew i would get stuck and my thermometer said 10 degrees so me and my buddy were like screw it we werent digging tonight. Nothing like popping the back window so you can see when you are backing up:grin:

Sounds like what we were doing in the snow drifts at school during our spare :P Gathered up most of the big 4x4s to take a run through a good 3 foot deep snow drift (up to the rocker panels on my HD springed 3/4 ton 2wd) The biggest truck went first, made it about a cab length before he got stuck, the guy just floored it and started spinning all four right away, Pulled him out, and he took another run, agian, started spinning and was stuck good. Sent a couple other trucks in that did the same thing, and finally as a joke, we ran a bone stock 88+ GMC 4x4, the kid made it right through to the other side of the field we were running through, then backed most of the way back (with a couple of us in the back, lol) He was the only one to pop it into 4lo, and get her going enough that she pushed the snow, but not enough that it'd spin like crazy. It was pretty impressive :D We used my 2wd to pull the trucks out with a long chain, I pulled the 4x4 GMC out with my truck a fair ways into the drift (following the other guy's tire tracks, lol) then promptly got stuck in the plowed parking lot, LOL :D

I was wishing I had my GMC converted over to 4x4 already, it looked like fun :D

PS -- The drifts were like the ones that Tuff84Blaze was playing in before :)

Im Out

I'M OUT!
I got my mom to drive while I pushed forward when she was in reverse, and it moved a bit. Then I drove and they pushed... then we shoveled, then I drove... FINALLY after about an hour... I GOT OUT... PIcs to follow

Ultimate snow stuck recovery tool = shovel

Nice thing about snow is it's easy to shovel..........go get a shovel and get to work! Dig out from under the diffs and around the tires and you can probably have it out in 30 minutes.

true that!! :waytogo: i remember back when i had my first "4x4" an 84 chevy k10 w/ 250 I-6 and a 4speed behind it. dunno what xfer case... stock truck. has some 235/75/15 m+s tires with good tread and then some old 31" tires that 2 were about bald. threw the bald one in back figuring front had more weight on it and figured id see how far through a snow bank i could go and keep going... well come to find out the teeth on the front driveshaft were gone and the front end wasnt turning... so yep had just 2 bald tires in the back to get me out. a shovel and about 1/2 hr digging and rocking and i was out

I dug for about an hour when I had my k5 stuck in a 3' drift that was about 50 yards long. Note it was stock then and had two new bfg ats on the front and bald ats on the rear. After diging, I only had gotten the k5 to move about 5 feet. So I waited till my dad got home to pull me out with his 98 z71. 3 yanks and I was out.

I have to be careful going around corners, it's a little top heavy with about 6+ inches of snow on the top
