stuck trying to reinstall shift rails in 205, pic and help needed please

the 2 rings at the rear of the shift rails (below #2).. what are those rings? I remember when i used a punch to get the roll pin out that there seemed to be another piece of metal sliding above the shift rail, but i cant find that now, what was it and where'd it go? i dont want to put this together wrong

Those two rings in that drawing are the shift rail seals.

thanks, i figured out my problems, i wansnt sticking the shift rails through the shift forks
