I got a 2 1/2" raised block from a member here with one stripped out stud. I thought that I could fid one locally, but no such luck. Anyone know where to find them? Or would one grade 8 bolt work?
I found some Grade8 all thread and cut it down to size. Make sure you check those everyday before you drive. The raised blocks are unsafe, and I cant believe they are still on the market.cbbr said:I got a 2 1/2" raised block from a member here with one stripped out stud. Because there is too much stress on those long and skinny studs. If they have any play in them, they will break. I broke this in a driveway on my way to the store.cbbr said:Why are they unsafe?
The following question is only out of curiousity not meant to be an attack. Hopefully it will only lend more weight to your argument.Chaddy said:Because there is too much stress on those long and skinny studs. If they have any play in them, they will break. Could you imagine having one break away from home? or worse, on the road....
This is why I went crossover.

Yes, I used a torque wrench...........every other week.mrk5 said:The following question is only out of curiousity not meant to be an attack. Hopefully it will only lend more weight to your argument.
Did you actually use a torque wrench for installation? And did you recheck the torque?
Try calling ORD. They may be willing to sell you just one stud.cbbr said:I got a 2 1/2" raised block from a member here with one stripped out stud. I thought that I could fid one locally, but no such luck. Anyone know where to find them? Or would one grade 8 bolt work?

I was told to check them all the time after install. I used locktight also.
