Hey Guys,

I was driving in the truck the other day and it was doing something weird. From a stop when I would press the gas down like 1/3 of the way the truck would seem like it was about to die then started going again. I check the carb to make sure the choke wasn't stuck closed (which seems to happen w/this edelbrock) and it was fine. Have any ideas? Anything you can suggest would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

Sounds like a spark or fuel issue. Check/clean or replace the cap and rotor, plugs and wires.
Have you changed the fuel filter.

When did it start doing this? Right after startup or after the engine was warm? Did it just start out of the blue or has it been getting worse and worse? Automatic trans? Does it stumble when out of gear?

It just started doing it out of the blue....It only does it when the truck is in gear. Out of gear, you press the gas, it revs up like it's supposed too. In gear, if you just press the pedal a little it seems like its gonna die out, then it slowly gets more power. It does this after the truck has warmed up for about 4 min. I just changed the coil and cap last year.

Thanks for the input so far guys,

It could be a bunch of things, but some of them have already been suggested. Basically, your issues are gonna be either spark, fuel, or vacuum related, although a vacuum leak will usually show up more at idle.

I had a similar issue once, but it only showed up once the engine was warm. It ended up being bad wires.... The fact that the symptoms only show up once the truck is warmed up leads me to believe it's spark or choke related.

Let us know what you find out, brother.

i have the same problem only it's a tbi.
new dist.,coil ,wires, plugs and fuel filter helped a little.
