What size are the 8 (16 total) bolts that hold the axles into the hubs on a 14FF? The axle I'm building didn't come with any, and I'd rather not get a "variety pack" to try to figure it out. Thanks!

grd 8 bolts. and comon hardware store stuff has no shoulder at that length. you need to go bigger length and cut off the extra. then a grd 8 lock washer was used factory also.

the stockers had just the right amount of shoulder to come about 7/8 of the way threw the axle flange with the washer on it. this was to help hold the load of power better and keep the axle shaft better centered.

I'm not sure about the lock washer deal. My 14ff was bone stock when i got it and it has serrated washer (flanged) head bolts in the grade 8 flavor. I've seen many 14ff with this same bolt as well so i'm thinking that if you see any with lock washers those are probably not stock.

1/2" coarse thread, 1.25" long, and grade 8 flanged.

Try McMaster Carr, they may carry some. Or go to a junk yard and pull them off a truck.
