I recently purchased a 1991 K5 Blazer, the only 4X4 I've ever owned was a Chevy Avalanche so forgive me for this question.

The 4X4 I ASS*UME is 4HI (shift anytime?) and 4LO (need to lock the front hubs ?) I haven't engaged the 4X4 cause I am not sure how to do it. Any help will be appreciated....

Just put it in neutral and stuff it into 4-Lo, 4-Hi should be ok at low speeds.

If you have manual lockers on it (50/50 chance, most came without them especially on later years but alot have been swapped over the years) then you have to get out and turn the hub lock on each wheel up front. If you have no way to manually lock them they're auto lockers and should lock up automatically after a little forward travel after you lock the t-case. Either way if you have manual hubs you HAVE to lock them to get any front wheel rotation, even in 4-Hi.

If you can't get it to lock up look at the auto-lockers first if you have them. I've seen them grenade on buddies trucks ALOT. Usually in the worst place, leaving them stuck.

Hope it was what you were looking for!
