getting gas yesterday poped the gas door open heard a bunch of babies chirping for there mommys and sure enough they made a nest next to the filler neck. three of them little suckers just hatched it looks like. ill try and get a pic tomorrow. question is what do i do now?

Go home and set the nest out somewhere safe and hope the momma finds them?

I can't figure out why birds build in things that move around regularly. I once pulled a taillight to find most of the rear quarter panel filled with bird nest. Another time I was getting ready to re-tune the engine because it just wasn't running like it should. When I went to clean the air filter I found the entire intake tube stuffed full. That's like 10" long x4" diameter. (Good news is that the air filter was very clean due to this organic pre-filter). And this thing was getting driven at least a few times a week.

I noticed a small bird like a sparrow or wren, flying up from the ground with twigs in it's mouth,to my engine hoist thats outside ,and upon closer inspection,I see its a mother bird, building a nest, inside the square tubing at the opposite end from the hook !..
Usually wasps build a nest in it every year (and succeed at stinging me next time I move or go to use the hoist )...yesterday I looked again,I guess she decided not to build there--I must have spooked her..

there is a few hawks in the area so i understand just wish they would pic that spot that the third on since ive had it.
thought about filling th space with expandable foam to where there is no place for them.

Yesterday I found a birds nest inside the broken headlight of one of our old John Deere tractors at work,

well i guess the mama bird should have picked a better nesting spot and not stuck her head between the filler neck and the vent hose, cause it might have killed her. when i noticed it i got the tools out and got her free she fell to the ground and past out. if she dies the baby's are dead. there was 4 now only two remain.
